Bisnis.com, Jakarta – Leading conglomerates in property and coal industries are stepping up to support President Prabowo Subianto's ambitious 3 Million Homes Program. During the groundbreaking ceremony for free housing for low-income residents in Tangerang, Indonesia's Minister of Housing and Settlements, Maruarar Sirait, called on key players to contribute to this large-scale initiative.

In an official letter dated October 31, 2024, Maruarar invited several conglomerates to join the launch of the 3 Million Homes program. He confirmed that Agung Sedayu Group will be involved in the development of land donated to the government for this project.

The project site is located in Tangerang. “Our company is providing the land, while construction will be managed by Agung Sedayu,” Maruarar stated when interviewed at the Ministry of Public Works on Monday, October 28, 2024.

The official invitation extended to government officials, banking representatives, housing associations, state-owned enterprises, professional organizations, and media outlets. Major players in the property and housing sectors were also invited, including CEOs from conglomerate groups like Agung Podomoro Land, Agung Sedayu Group, Alam Sutera Realty, Ciputra Development, LIPPO Group, Pakuwon Jati, and Paramount Land. High-ranking representatives from other conglomerates, such as Sinar Mas Land, Summarecon Agung, Harum Energi Group, Triputra Group, Djarum Group, Gudang Garam Group, Intiland Development, and Pakuwon Group, were also in attendance.

Acting Director General of Housing at the Ministry of Housing and Residential Areas (PKP), Iwan Suprijanto, noted that PKP has yet to receive budget allocations specifically for the 3 Million Homes initiative. The current PKP budget of IDR 5.07 trillion, designated for the Directorate General of Housing within the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PUPR) for the 2025 fiscal year, remains focused on completing several multi-year projects.

“This budget isn’t representative of the Ministry’s total funding; the IDR 5.07 trillion is strictly allocated for the Directorate General of Housing in the 2025 fiscal year,” Iwan explained at the Ministry of Public Works office on Monday, October 28, 2024. He added that for now, the focus remains on wrapping up ongoing multi-year projects.
